Hi! My name is Stephanie. I am a teacher in Florida. The 2015-2016 school year will be my 19th year of teaching. I can't believe it has been that long. In many ways it feels like it has flown by. I taught a 1st and 2nd grade combined class at a private Montessori school for my first 6 years. Since then, I have taught 1st grade for 11 years and 2nd grade for 1 year. I have been in 1st grade for the past 8 years. However, I am moving back to 2nd grade this year.I am so excited. Sometimes you just have to shake things up!
I have been married for 25 years to a wonderful man, Kenny. On our 25th anniversary last Fall, we went on a week-long trip to Tennessee. We have two children, Jake and Becca. They are both married to people we love. Jake just got married in May.
I have been dealing with severe health issues for the past 7 years. I started a different blog "Celebrate First Grade" a few years ago, but wasn't able to keep up with it. Here and there, I may mention details about my health or my mother's death, which hit me hard a year and a half ago, but I want to "Focus on the Good" and renew my excitement for teaching. Once in a while, I need a change and I am very excited for the new school year!
On this blog, I have included Tabs for "DIY" and "Quotes". I loooove to make crafts and try Do It Yourself projects. I have been making a lot of things for my new classroom. Maybe you will see a project that will inspire you. I collect quotes- mostly inspirational ones. I will share some of my favorites in the "Quotes" section. I have used crafts and quotes to help me heal since my mother's death. I will share some of these things in this section in the hope that maybe something can help someone else.
I hope you enjoy this blog and find some inspiration to help you along your teaching journey.
Stephanie
